Emerald Coast Healthcare Coalition Workshop

Active Shooter AS360 will conduct a mini-symposium on 3D Workplace Violence Prevention and Active Shooter Survival. This event is sponsored by the Emerald Coast Healthcare Coalition (ECHCC) and is scheduled for Monday, June 10, 2019 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the ECHCC office at 755 Lovejoy Road NW, Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Call the ECHCC at 850-863-3628 to register, or register by email at ann.echcc@icloud.com. Registration is free.

We are proud of our Active Shooter Survival courses and exercises, but we realized that we needed to emphasize violence prevention to complement our response-oriented workshops.

The violence prevention program was developed by the AS360 team, and is activity-oriented with topics such as:

  • Paths to violence
  • Warning indicators
  • Interviewing a person of concern
  • Developing a Threat Assessment Team
  • Triaging threats and risks

During the afternoon session, AS360 will conduct their tried and true Active Shooter Survival Workshop. Students are engaged through physical activities oriented around the 3Gs; Get Out, Get Down, and Get Ready. New activities (recently added) include barricading, and reacting when shooting erupts within the room.

We’re a fan of the ECHCC because they sponsor training, symposiums, and information forums in the Northwest Florida region, and strongly suggest that healthcare providers take advantage of the opportunities offered by the ECHCC. There are regional healthcare coalitions throughout the country; use the Interactive Healthcare Coalitions Map to find a healthcare coalition in your state.

Key Takeaway:

Join us at the June 10 mini-symposium and become a member of the Emerald Coast Healthcare Coalition or join a coalition in your state/region.
